About Asher Hand-Crafts
Asher Hand-Crafts began as a creative outlet for a new stay-at-home mom.
After the birth of our first child, and finding ourselves thousands of miles away from family and friends we decided to start something that we hoped would eventually become a way to express ourselves and maybe bring in a little extra money. Sandra had worked for years in retail settings and missed the interaction with people.
She also had been dabbling for years in various crafty endeavours - so many interests and so little time. Robert's father had been an accomplished woodworker, a true artisan that passed to his son the appreciation of a beautiful piece of wood and the talent to turn it into something beautiful and functional.
The first items we created were actually inspired by our two little boys. We were interested in classic wooden toys - toys that sparked the imagination and inspired creative play. Puzzles to encourage dexterity and wooden toys to inspire hours of make-believe.
Next, Robert wanted to take up the torch passed on by his father. He gave Robert permission to re-create the Gallery Trays that he had enjoyed success with in the past. The trays are especially meaningful to Robert not only because of this, but
because of the history of the original inspiration for the trays themselves - a reflection of family history and heritage.
Other items that we offer have come to us in a variety of ways. The DenimComforts© line is a result of years of creating Denim quilts for all of our various family members. They liked them so much, we thought others might too.
The puzzles and plaques are actually the result of special requests that we had at various shows.
Tachez Development - our new web design and computiong solutions service is the result of a new learning experience for Sandra and a continuing evolution of skills for Robert.
We are continually adding to and changing our lines of offerings.
As people ask for special items, as we learn new techniques, or as we have moments of inspiration, we will continue to expand what we do. However, our best ideas come from our customers. Please keep challenging us with new ideas and requests, because it keeps us always learning.
